Title : Computer Systems Engineer
Location : Indianapolis, IN 46219
Monday & Friday- remote
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday- In office Indianapolis**
Job Description
Perform system administration tasking, including troubleshooting and diagnosing software and operating system issues, for Windows and Red Hat systems. Generate and test patches for supported systems including scripts to assist in delivering patches to end user. Complete RMF documentation updates, cyber testing and scans. Perform fleet support to US Navy and respond to data calls from program office.
Required Skills
High degree of comfort working independently at Linux command line
Minimum of 6+ years of progressive technical (hands-on) experience in Linux and Windows administration proficiency.
Comfortable with patching, updating and configuring Windows and Linux systems.
Experience with device imaging (Linux & Windows)
Proficient configuring and managing virtual environments.
Understanding and proficiency in implementing and maintaining system security. (Applying STIGs, general hardening, vulnerability scanning)
Experience with obtaining and maintaining Authorization To Operate (Client)
Experience with planning and designing hardware architecture and system design
Capable of scripting (Bash, PowerShell) and familiar with various programming languages
Strong verbal/written communications skills and ability to interact with users
Knowledge of security standards, methods, and policies; risk and threat analysis; technical security safeguards; and operational security measures.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a DoD a Secret level clearance.
Desired Skills
Experience working with US Navy IT or radar systems.
Background in Systems Engineering and Software Engineering practices.
ACTIVE Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain additional program-level special clearances
Desired Certifications
Security + or higher, a Linux administration certification, Microsoft System Administrator or Engineer certification, CCNA
Education Requirements
B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fielde.
