Certified Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the registered pharmacists, assist in the preparation and filling of the medication carts, perform critical pharmacy calculations, compound non-sterile preparations using pharmaceutical technique, utilize various computerized programs and technical equipment for the various functions listed above. Perform medication distribution to our patients, restock and reorder necessary pharmacy inventory, and satisfactorily pass required hospital and government validation examinations. Reports to the Manager Pharmacy Services.

Qualifications

• Experience:
  
  

1+ years of previous hospital pharmacy technician experience, preferred but not required.

• Education & Training:
  
  

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

• License, Certification & Registration:
  
  

CPhT or eligible for Pharmacy intern required

• Other Requirements:
  
  

Working knowledge of metric system conversions and calculation of ratio and proportions.

Conditions of Employment

Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson’s clinical entities or at the University.
