Island Ventures is currently seeking a Falcon 2000 Captain to join our corporate aviation team. The Captain is directly responsible for the safe operation of the aircraft assigned and the safety of the passengers, crew, and cargo. This individual performs duties and responsibilities as Pilot in Command (PIC), exercising final authority and responsibility for the operation of the company aircraft. The PIC will professionally conduct all flight operations with in-depth knowledge and experience in aviation, work independently with minimal guidance, and use judgement in operating company aircraft safely and efficiently while ensuring that all duties will be performed in accordance with departmental and Island Ventures’ policies, practices, and procedures.

Relocation to the Northwest Arkansas area is required for this position and assistance will be available if needed.

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Work within Island Ventures Aviation to maintain a culture of safety with efficient procedures that support customer service.
  • Manage System Management System as Safety Captain.
  • Retains the final authority for the safe operation of the aircraft (FAR 91.3).
  • Maintain working knowledge of all applicable CFRs, the AIM, and AFM.
  • Conduct flights in accordance with the Flight Operations Manual and applicable federal, state, local and foreign regulations governing the operation.
  • Ensure compliance with customs, immigration and cabotage law.
  • Direct the activities of the crew ensuring an understanding of their duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensures that the aircraft is airworthy and that all proper documents are on board the aircraft.
  • Makes decisions as necessary to the start, delay or cancellation of the flight, or deviation from a planned destination when operating conditions dictate.
  • Obtains briefing on the purpose of the flight, weather, operating procedures and any special instructions, and plans flight assignments.
  • Prepares or supervises preparation of flight plan considering such factors as altitude, terrain, weather, range, weight, cruise control data, airport facilities and navigational aids.
  • Ensures that weather and aircraft performance conditions can be met.
  • Ensures that all flight planning and risk management requirements have been met.
  • Ensures that the aircraft weight and balance form/manifest is properly completed.
  • Ensures that a flight plan or other authorized flight locating procedures is followed on each flight.
  • Reports all known or suspected FAA violations or incidents promptly to the Director, Aviation.
  • Ensures that all passengers receive the appropriate briefing for each phase of flight.
  • Ensures that emergency equipment as well as provisions for passenger comfort are on board and ensures that all cargo is properly secured.
  • Ensures the preparation of flight logs, reporting of mechanical irregularities, and recording of performed maintenance when maintenance is performed away from home base.
  • Ensures that all maintenance discrepancies are passed to the maintenance personnel and that maintenance is alerted to the current status of the aircraft.
  • Ensure that qualified personnel will handle the aircraft and supervise all servicing, towing, or storage when away from home base.
  • Maintain personal records, i.e., FAA medical certificate, FAA airman certificates, passport, badges, and any other records applicable to performance of flight duty.
  • Provide copies of these records to the Director, Aviation as they are updated or revised.
  • Act as Second-In-Command (SIC) and perform the SIC primary duties as needed.
  • Ensures that the aircraft is clean and prepared for flight with all aircraft stores and appropriate catering provisions on board for the safety and comfort of passengers and crew.
  • May be called upon to manage other aspects of duty within the flight department not directly related to flight.
  • Performs all other job-related duties as requested.


Key Qualifications include:

  • Three (5) years of prior relevant experience or military experience
  • No FAA violations or at fault accidents or incidents
  • Strongly preferred experience includes the following:
    • 4000 hours of total pilot flight time or equivalent experience
    • 1500 hours of multiengine turbine time or equivalent experience
    • 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command
  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with Airplane, Multiengine Land Rating.
  • First Class Medical Certificate required
  • FCC Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit required
  • DA-2000 type rating, preferred but not required
  • Falcon experience strongly preferred
  • Proline 21 experience preferred
  • International Pilot-in-Command experience preferred
  • Must be willing to work flexible dynamic schedules and on-call
  • Ability to work weekends, nights, holidays, and overnight trips
  • Safety Management System experience a bonus
  • Strong focus on safety, learning, and standards.
  • Supports the open sharing of information on all safety issues
  • Previous experience working in corporate aviation preferred
  • High degree of initiative and self-motivation required
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Military experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Possess a team effort approach with great interpersonal skills
  • Passion for excellence to represent Island Ventures as a Brand Ambassador
  • Professional appearance and demeanor required
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to lift 75 pounds to shoulder level due to baggage loading and unloading requirements
