LHH is partnering with a client within the Electrical Industry who is seeking a Buyer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing equipment, goods, and services, and managing vendors. The successful applicant will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better deals, and find more profitable suppliers.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies.
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
• Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.
• Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
• Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
• Assess, manage, and mitigate risks.
• Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.
• Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
• Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
  
  

Qualifications:

• BS degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration
• Proven working experience as a Buyer WITHIN THE ELECTRICAL INDUSTRY
• Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as dexterity in “reading” the market.
• Talent in negotiations and networking.
• Good knowledge of supplier or third-party management software.
• Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers.
• Experience in collecting and analyzing data.
• Strong leadership capabilities

• Location: Kansas City Metro - fully onsite
• Hours: Monday-Friday (8 am-5 pm)
• Job Type: Direct Hire
• Salary: $65,000-85,000 annually
