San Francisco Friends School - Associate Director of Admission
Reports to: Director of Admission
Primary Responsibility: To work in partnership with the Director of Admission on all aspects of the admissions process and the stewardship of new families.
Position Overview: The Associate Director of Admission is an exceptional communicator who works diligently to present and promote San Francisco Friends School as a vibrant, inclusive community. They are known and serve as a knowledgeable resource on campus and in the external community on all aspects of the admissions process. This full-time, twelve-month administrator believes firmly and passionately that our school is a dynamic place where students and their families can thrive. Alongside the Director of Admission they will recruit, identify, and orient students and families who support the mission and core values of the school and help achieve the school’s admissions targets.
The Associate Director of Admission works closely with the Director of Admission to oversee, manage, and support all aspects of the admissions process. The highest levels of integrity and maturity are required in all aspects of work with the internal and external community as well as the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of constituencies. _____________________________________________________________
Responsibilities
Serve as a member of the admissions committee during both the main enrollment season and throughout the summer to achieve admissions targets
Understand fully and articulate clearly all aspects of San Francisco Friends School’s philosophy, mission and purpose, school life and the K-8 educational program including the SFFS commitment to socioeconomic diversity through the Adjusted Tuition program
Interview prospective middle school families and write interview reports
Train and support the adjuncts to the admissions process (i.e. student ambassadors/tour guides; parent ambassadors; teachers)
Manage Admissions Committee parent volunteers for admission events, school tours, fairs and welcome events
Manage and organize the parent Welcome Committee, plan welcome events with parent volunteers and coordinate the new family buddy program
Lead campus tours for prospective parents and respond to prospective parent questions (in person, by email, and phone)
Represent SFFS with pride and confidence at internal and external events
Routinely cultivate relationships with administrators at local preschools, elementary, and middle schools and apprise them of the school’s program
Monitor the admissions office email address to ensure timely, professional feedback and internal and external communications
Working in conjunction with the Communications Director and the Director of Admission support the preparation of all admissions materials including admissions packets, follow-up mailings to applicant families, decision letters, welcome packets, etc. and ensure timely and complete distribution
Organize and manage all aspects of kindergarten applicant visits and “shadow days” for Grades 1-7 and coordinate appropriate internal resources for these events including DS support and all print/other materials
Manage admissions events, including weekday tours, weekend and evening open houses, outreach events, admission fairs, etc
Participate in regional associations such as BADA in order to be informed of admission trends and best practices for communication and policy during the admission process
Work with the Director of Admission to evaluate/reflect on the admission process and redesign/reimagine the process and admissions calendar as needed
Data management:
Hold ownership/expertise in the admissions database (Ravenna) ensuring data integrity, and timely availability of accurate information to all constituencies
Produce admissions statistics for Director of Admission, Business Office, and Head of School’s analysis
Work with the business office during the re-enrollment process to ensure all students/tuition revenues are accurately captured

Tech-savvy: Proficiency with Ravenna and Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.) and Google Suite
Physical requirements:
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
