The Division of Sports Medicine at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) is seeking a full-time, Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Sports Medicine specialist to join a practice focused on academic pediatric Sports Medicine.
The selected individual will provide Sports Medicine care to physically active children, adolescents, and young adults in urban and suburban settings. If desired, there may be opportunity to maintain a primary care practice in the Division of Adolescent and Transition Medicine. Our division is housed in the Department of Pediatrics and is home to 7 primary care sports physicians, 2 physical therapists with academic appointments (with a large Sports PT team), a Research Associate and 2 Clinical Research Assistants, and 1-2 fellows yearly. Our program has the only youth-focused athletic training team in the area and supports 5 local high schools, 3 gymnastics centers, and multiple youth sports organizations. We have one of the only dedicated pediatric Sports Medicine research labs in the US, with excellent research capability and support available. We work closely with the Divisions of Orthopedic Surgery, the Division of Occupational and Physical Therapy, and the Department of Radiology, as well as the rest of the Department of Pediatrics, to perform full service Sports Medicine care to our patients.
It is expected that 80% of the faculty member’s time would focus on clinical activities at one of our 6 satellite locations. The faculty member will have 20% time focused on administrative and scholarly activities, which could include research and/or resident/fellow education. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with an established team of educators and researchers at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and will have an academic appointment at the medical school. Academic rank appointment is commensurate with experience. Faculty development opportunities abound at Cincinnati Children’s, and the division is strongly committed to this aspect of faculty life.
Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is nationally recognized as a leader in pediatric healthcare, with a reputation for excellence in patient care, research and medical education. U.S. News & World Report ranked Cincinnati Children's as the nation's top pediatric hospital in their 2023-2024 ‘Best Children's Hospitals’ issue. Among pediatric institutions, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center ranks among the top pediatric medical centers nationwide receiving research grants from the National Institute of Health, our largest funding source. This gives us the unique opportunity to influence future generations and the care of children, adolescents, and young adults.
