Assistant Plant Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The Assistant Plant Manager must monitor all production processes, continuously improvise to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Implement safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Implement best practices and lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement.
• The Assistant Plant Manager must coordinate daily operations of the products in the manufacturing plant.
• Responsible for all equipment condition, reliability, performance metrics and preventive maintenance.
• Must recruit, train, and supervise plant staff, including production workers, technicians, and supervisors.
• Responsible for tracking performance goals and conducting evaluations.
• Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands while optimizing resources.
• The Assistant Plant Manager must partner with maintenance/engineering teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, implement corrective actions, and enhance equipment reliability in compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to optimize inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of raw materials and finished products.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• The Assistant Plant Manager must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or related degree.
• Must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in the plastic manufacturing/blow molding industry.
• Must have 5 years of managerial/ supervisory experience.
• The Assistant Plant Manager must have an In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Must have a strong knowledge and understanding of GMP, HACCP, SQF, manufacturing systems etc.
• Proficient in budgeting, cost analysis, and financial management.
• The Assistant Plant Manager must be proficient with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to fly or drive for extended periods of time. Flexible in travel and in short notice.
