Job Description

Newrest ATL has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Quality Control Manager. This individual is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and improving the quality control and food safety process. Ensuring compliance with company quality standards. Supervise, train and motivate QC Auditors to achieve departmental goals.

  • Develop and improve theHACCP Plans, SSOP compliance, preparation for audits as needed. This position has the authority to hold product that does not conform to customer agreements, finished product specifications, or legal requirements.
  • Assist in implementing, maintaining, evaluating, enforcing, and updating USDA regulatory, Corporate Guidelines and QC Programs.
  • Interface with Production Supervisors and hourly employees on production, food safety, quality procedures.
  • Responsible for training and professional development of QC Staff.
  • Maintain Quality Reporting.
  • Departmental Administrative Duties (i.e. Time cards, employee paperwork, safety audits).
  • Provide Training for production, sanitation, maintenance, and quality control groups. Training includes but no limited to product quality standards, GMP’s, Food Safety Issues, HACCP.

Qualifications & Requirements

-Minimum of 3-7 years’ experience in Food Processing and Quality Management Experience.
-Must be detailed oriented and analytical aptitude.
-Must have the ability to make sound judgment and good decisions regarding quality and wholesomeness of product.
-Strong Leadership. Managerial Skills and the ability to coach and develop employees.
-Able to prioritize/adjust quickly to changing work environment with minimal supervision to meet changing production needs.
-Required to work in the Cold environment (Fridge area).
