JOB TITLE: Associate Director of Financial Operations/Assistant Controller


REPORTS TO: Director of Financial Operations and Reporting/Controller


DEPARTMENT: Finance & Accounting Service Group

SUMMARY:


Assist the Firm's Controller with the day-to-day management of the financial operations of the Accounting Department, month-end and year-end general ledger close processes for US and Paris operations, the interim and year-end financial statement audits, cash forecasts, quarterly US bank covenants, the monitoring of internal financial controls and other special CFO projects. Direct involvement with partner compensation and taxation reporting functions. Collaborate with the Treasury and AP teams on Firm escrow accounts, Chrome River vendor payments, AP aging summaries and employee reimbursement operations as well as with the Revenue/Billing/Cash Receipts and Finance/Budget teams on shared projects.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounting Operations and General Ledger Reporting:


" Manage NY Office staff of four professionals that requires direct involvement and a hands-on approach to ensure the accurate and timely reconciliation of balance sheet and certain income statement accounts on a monthly basis. This includes but is not limited to fixed assets reporting utilizing SAGE software for both book and tax purposes and partner current and capital accounts. Review required journal entries for expense accruals, reversals, departmental expense allocations, monthly payroll allocations and partner draws and distributions. Analyze actual and forecasted net cash flows completed on a daily basis. Maintain Xcelerate financial reporting software including new GL account additions and other updates.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

" Bachelor's degree in accounting and CPA preferred.

" 7+ years of hands-on law firm and/or public accounting management experience.

" Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables and VLOOKUPS).

" Working knowledge of Elite 3E.

" Experience with partnership tax filings.

" Knowledge of Xcelerate financial reporting software preference
