Reporting to the Associate Provost for Faculty and Administrative Affairs, the Assistant Director of Faculty Employment and Data provides critically important leadership to administer post-hiring faculty employment protocols, and ensure accurate, up-to-date employment data for all University faculty. The Assistant Director facilitates employment protocols for hired faculty regarding contracts, leaves, teaching loads, promotion, tenure, and privileges associated with faculty appointment status. In collaboration with the Associate Provost and the Director of Faculty Processes and Hiring, the Assistant Director is responsible for the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the University’s faculty affairs, including regulatory, accreditation, and University compliance. The Assistant Director is expected to work proactively to enhance faculty employment protocols, ensure the accuracy and timely reporting of faculty data, support successful faculty onboarding at the University, and support the professional development of faculty and the supervisory efficacy of department chairs. As a member of the Office of the Provost, the Assistant Director also contributes to institutional accreditation and articulation agreements efforts as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience or 5 years of experience in administration or higher education human resources.
Articulated ability to prioritize, coordinate, and accurately complete multiple detailed projects and deadlines in a changing environment
Working knowledge of computer software, especially Microsoft Office, Google systems
Excellent written skills and experience communicating with persons at all levels of the University and those outside the University
Strong organizational, analytical, and proofreading skills
Articulated ability to use independent judgment and problem-solving skills for decision-making
Experience handling sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality
Articulated ability to take direction and then work independently to accomplish tasks

Preferred Qualifications
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
More than 5 years in progressive positions within higher education, in Human Resources or Academic Affairs
Working knowledge of electronic applicant tracking systems, reporting systems, and Banner
Effective oral communication skills
Effective interpersonal communication skills
Successful experience communicating and interacting with persons at all levels of the University and those outside the University
Mastery of computer software, especially Microsoft Office, Google systems
Proficiency with electronic applicant tracking systems, reporting systems, and Banner
Successful experience implementing process improvements and collaborating across an organization to align practices to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness
Competency using relevant office equipment (e.g., multi-line telephone system with voicemail, fax machine, photocopier)
