The Assistant Chief Engineer contributes by designing the effective and consistent delivery of maintenance and operational excellence that enhances the company’s business. The Building Engineer will align the operational and maintenance platform delivery model in support of strategic business plans. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing, or arranging for repairs of all building operating systems at the property.
Responsibilities
Effectively respond to and resolve tenants service calls
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs
Effectively interact with and direct contracted service providers
Supervise, direct and mentor one or more maintenance staff members
Implement safety programs and protocols
Professionally and effectively interact with tenant facility personnel
Effectively perform or direct to be performed routine building maintenance and repair tasks
Operate building systems, including; access and lighting controls, fire and life safety systems
Have strong, demonstrated experience operating and troubleshooting HVAC systems and controls
Develop and maintain a courteous and service-oriented rapport with all customers (tenants, building occupants, vendors, client, co-workers)
Possess clear and effective written and verbal communications skills
Have demonstrated proficiency and experience in utilizing current technology tools (hardware and software)
Maintain relationship with the management and engineering staff to update work orders
Administer all necessary services to maintain and enhance the value, operating efficiency, and the physical appearance of the property
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
SMA Engineering Course (Recommended)
Qualifications
Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in commercial building maintenance or related industry
CFC License, and refrigerant licenses preferred
Available to work occasional overtime and provide after hours on-call emergency response on a rotational basis
Able to perform the physical requirements of the position; climbing ladders, bending, stooping, lift/carry minimum of 50 pounds, raise arms over head, perform overhead work, work effectively at heights
