Assistant Bank Manager

Summary/Objective

The Assistant Bank Manager (ABM) assists the Bank Manager with creating, developing and supporting a dynamic retail team that will maintain strong consumer and commercial customer relationships by providing quality services that help customers achieve their financial dreams.

Essential Functions

  • Assists the Bank Manager with hiring, developing and training to maintain a dynamic retail team to ensure all sales and operational processes are followed.
  • Assists customers with banking needs including opening and closing accounts, account maintenance, and consumer lending.
  • Adheres to the bank’s Vision, Core Competencies and Moments of Truth while listening for referral opportunities and referring customers to the appropriate areas of the bank while coaching their team to do the same. Utilizes the bank’s Customer Relationship Management system to document financial information to build and maintain the client’s relationship and follow-up events for future opportunities.
  • To grow and expand customer relationships, the ABM will conduct outside sales calls to existing and new customers to expand deposit and lending relationships.
  • Participates, supports and encourages team participation in local community events, clubs and activities including Bank at Work activities and Financial Literacy classes.

Supervisory Responsibility

Varies per branch. May include Customer Service Representatives (CSR), CSR Supervisor, Personal Bankers and/or Universal Bankers.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional retail branch. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, teller validators and scanners.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This position requires significant sitting, typing, viewing computer screens, talking, hearing, and maneuvering around the branch.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours vary according to the branch location.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of the area and overnight travel may be expected.

Required Education And Experience

  • High school graduate or GED and either Associate’s Degree or 3 years of related experience.
  • High energy with strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop, mentor and manage staff while using interpersonal and leadership skills.

Preferred Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of related work experience.
  • Banking experience.
  • Management experience.
  • Community involvement.
