Job Title: Agronomist
Position Overview
We are looking for a results-driven agronomist that is independent and self-motivated to assist our sales representatives, dealers, and end customers with seed orders and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have depth of knowledge in forage, cover crop, and turf seed; however, expertise in all three areas is not a requirement and additional training is available.
Coverage Area
Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Northern Kentucky, and Eastern Illinois specific territory to be determined based on candidate s location in relation to CISCO s agronomy team and to maximize efficiency.
Responsibilities
Support a defined sales area of accounts and associated CISCO sales representatives.
Assist sales representatives in finding potential new seed accounts.
Maximize sales and gross profit potential for each account within your sales area.
Provide product training, education, and motivation for our dealers and their employees and customers.
Form strong relationships with CISCO s vendors.
Take an active role in updating literature and websites (i.e. forage guide, cover crop guide, blog, etc.)
Work with our marketing department to develop content for social media and other advertising outlets.
Conduct seed meetings with our dealers and their customers, primarily focusing on our key brands (Execu-Turf , Enduro-Plus , Pasture Perfect , N-Vest Cover Crops, Wildlife Zone ).
Help management evaluate and select products for the continued improvement of CISCO s product mix.
Represent CISCO at appropriate trade shows and meetings.
Act as the company s liaison with various trade groups and industry associations.
Work closely with our seed department and northern agronomist to ensure a unified approach on forage, cover crop, and turf matters.
Provide on-farm troubleshooting when needed.
Communicate new ideas and opportunities to management.
Some overnight travel is expected. Frequency is dependent on candidate s home location.
Requirements
Proven experience in agronomy and relevant college degree or certification
Strong organizational and communication skills
Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to customers needs
Relationship management skills and openness to feedback
