Agronomic Innovation Coordinator

Responsibilities-

Develop and manage Sentinel’s trial program in alignment with the product roadmap throughout the entire product lifecycle from discovery to validation.-

Plan trials through well developed protocols that define participant expectations, trial execution, equipment usage, and budget.-

Recruit grower, agronomist, and public and private sector collaborators for on-farm and plot-scale research efforts.-

Coordinate daily operations for on-farm and plot-scale trials including stakeholder management, labor delegation, field operations, software insights monitoring, prescription distribution, support (remotely and in-person if necessary), and budget adherence.-

Identify, install, and support trial equipment including but not limited to variable rate fertigation pumps, irrigation systems, and mobile machinery rate controllers and monitors. -

Collect, document, store, analyze, and report trial data in accordance with scientific best practices and Sentinel standards.-

Support development of novel agronomic approaches based on trial and commercial data.-

Communicate trial results and innovations through marketing materials, white-papers, journal articles, grower meetings, dealer conferences, and professional conferences.Required Qualifications-

3+ years of experience in agricultural research, including trial protocol development, data collection, and trial coordination.-

Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, agricultural engineering, agricultural systems technology, precision agriculture, or other related technical discipline.-

Strong verbal communication, written communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills as evidenced through a portfolio, provided references, and the interview process.-

Proficiency with at least one geospatial analysis engine (e.g. ArcMap, QGIS).-

Proficiency in statistics and data analysis principles, concepts, and techniques.-

Experience with irrigation, fertigation, and nutrient management.-

Experience with precision agriculture hardware, software, and data.-

Experience Working Directly With Farmers, Agronomists, And Agribusinesses.Preferred Qualifications-

5+ years of experience in agricultural research, including on-farm trial management, trial protocol development, data collection, and trial coordination-

M.S. or Ph.D. in agronomy, agricultural engineering, agricultural systems technology, precision agriculture, or other related technical discipline.-

Experience or knowledge of agricultural production across multiple geographies and crops.-

Proficiency with at least one scientific computing language (e.g. Python, R)-

Familiarity with database interaction and management, including through SQL queries.-

Familiarity with project management concepts and software tools.-

Strong record of successful innovation demonstrated by thesis or dissertation work, publications, patents, or product releases.Compensation, Benefits, and Schedule-
