Description

FS-Elliott Co., LLC is looking to add an Aero Engineer to our team at our headquarters in Export, PA. In this role you would be responsible for contributing to the design and development of centrifugal air compressors throughout the product engineering life cycle, from feasibility to implementation and testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design aerodynamic components of compressors including impellers, diffusers, and volutes. This includes modifying existing designs as well as creating new designs
  • Act as main point of contact for processing aerodynamic information from the Sales & Project Engineering departments to the Shop Floor
  • Analyze and adjust existing stage performance ratings based on test results.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles and have experience using computational fluid dynamics (CFX) and have the ability to research and apply technical subject matter to create engineering processes or solve complex issues
  • Utilize aerodynamic designs to meet aerodynamic performance criteria and support Sales and Project management to ensure successful performance quotations
  • Analyze technical data and collaborate with others to identify improvements and create standardization measures
  • Develop and implement finished product testing plan(s)
  • Continually look for ways to improve process, customer satisfaction, quality of product, team achievements, and overall company objectives
  • Develop acceptance tests and inspection criteria
  • Provide technical support to production, maintenance management and technical personnel
  • Plan and implement process change actions that positively impact business results
  • Contribute to engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues to be addressed; provide information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommend options and courses of action; implement directives
  • Maintain expert level of product knowledge and application
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Skills Knowledge And Experience

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree (BS) from four-year college or university in Aerodynamic or Mechanical Engineering, and 3 or more years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of technical products in the rotary and reciprocating industries
  • Capable of designing and implementing processes
  • Operations or manufacturing engineering experience dealing with assembly of mechanical products
  • Experience applying statistical techniques to reducing process variation and solving design and manufacturing challenges
  • Demonstrated experience working across multiple teams through collaboration and communication; interpersonal savvy
  • Firm commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills including ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively
  • Excellent problem solving, process analysis, and improving business practice skills
  • Good judgement skills with the ability to make timely and sound decisions

  • Proficient experience with Office 365 software, Solid modeling, SQL Database, LabVIEW, and CFD Software
