The Feds are on fire this week with the regulations!  For those of you tired of battling the airlines for refunds and vouchers for delayed flights and lost luggage, the Department of Transportation is giving that cloud a silver lining. (Excuse the pun :-) #DOT announced new rules requiring airlines to automatically refund passengers for canceled or significantly delayed flights, defining "significant" delays as more than three hours for domestic and six hours for international flights. Refunds must be issued within seven days in cash, not vouchers, and apply to lost baggage not delivered within 12 hours. These rules come after Southwest Airlines was fined $140 million for operational issues, setting a new standard for passenger rights. #Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg #emphasized the importance of holding airlines accountable and ensuring passengers receive owed refunds without hassle. #airlines #DOT #Feds #DepartmentofTransportation
