About

Solar Power is a gift from God. Freely falling from the sky every day. All that humanity must do is find a cost effective and reliable way to capture it (possibly store it) and use it. I believe that digital products (i.e. software applications, databases for data analytics, sensors for IOT, artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital twin, AR/VR, etc...) will play an increasing role in helping humanity in this important endeavor. Therefore, I am dedicating myself to this pursuit.

My career experience includes working at 2 fortune 500 companies and a fast growth renewable energy startup that grew from $50 Million in revenue to nearly $4 Billion in revenue in just 6 years. Now, I find myself at another startup where we will be driving the cost of utility scale solar down through innovative digital products and solutions.

      Managed the IT team that supported one of the largest Solar EPC companies in the world. As one of the pioneers in Utility Scale Solar EPC, First Solar did not have a sophisticated IT/application infrastructure when I started. In the course of 8 years, we learned a lot and grew a lot, as we had several years as the largest Solar EPC in the world. Some of the highlights are:

      - Won the 2016 Business Enablement CEO Award (the highest honor at First Solar) for creating a Solar Power Plant Design Application that drastically improved First Solar's front end engineering process.
      - Built a custom Construction Management System to streamline our progress reporting and revenue recognition.
      - Implemented a SharePoint based Document Management System that organized and cataloged over 10K project related documents.
      - Developed a Drone program that eliminated the need to manually count post, tracker and module installation progress, which resulted in a headcount reduction at each of our construction sites.

    Served as the Product Owner for the First Solar Energy Capacity Assessment Tool. This tool was a first of it's kind, online assessment tool that was designed with Solar Developers in mind. In the first 4 months since it's launch, over 500 Developers have created nearly 2000 designs totaling 70GWs worth of potential utility scale projects around the world!

  • Maximo CMMS Implementation

    Implemented Maximo as First Solar's Global CMMS at our Manufacturing plants in Germany, Malaysia and USA. Integrated the system with the machines on the floor for automated downtime logging, and equiped the maintenace techs with handheld computers for easy integration of data with work.

  • Microsoft SharePoint 2007 Implementation

    When I started at First Solar, we did not have an Intranet. I had never worked at a company without an Intranet, so it was an interesting challenge to quickly bring one up. SharePoint made this happen very fast, as we were up and running and growing our content in about 2 months from start.
