Considering I don't have a resume posted, as I'm not looking to change positions that is a interesting opening gambit... Then.. Boilerplate description of the position and blurb about the company directly lifted from the client's website. Compensation : Amount that is under market for the position/responsibilities. very basic standard benefits package. Myself: Thanks for the message. However, I'm not interested in working for client X. I enjoy working for a much smaller company with a more direct path to the real decision making. Recruiter: Great news! I just found out the client is now offering a less undermarket salary and a sign-on bonus that isn't enough to make anyone at this level change their mind. There was nothing in this recruiting attempt, that as a potential candidate that was attractive. It came off as very lazy and a non-serious attempt to boost the list of candidate names they had to put in front of the client.
