What do you do if you're considering the risks and rewards of becoming a freelance project manager?
Here are the reasons I chose YES even with all risks: - Existing Market- Get creative; think outside the box to have a succussful strategy toolbox in any economy. - Know Your Resources- Yes, you will need to add a few more spokes to your existing PM wheel (Marketing, finance, sales, forecasting, account management, service delivery etc) but most seasoned PM's with longevity & experience, have already DONE all the above! Use the power of your network, partner, research, and outsource low cost tech or services that will help in those areas you have low business intelligence in. If you don't have, BUILD it - Belief- Have the same faith in yourself all your employers, clients, and staff had in you all these years delivering project success!

Here's how you can utilize emotional intelligence to resolve conflicts in IT Strategy.
This is a great starting point. Along with empathy, I put myself in their shoes in a conflict where I felt the same. I ask myself what I needed then to feel assurance of being heard, and what I did or Could do differently to change my position of emotional space. I take THOSE answers into the discussion to offer suggestions, support, or ASKS to those involved in the act of Servant Leadership, NOT power play. Many times us in leadership focus a bit too much on what desired result is and not the impact of the team to get there. This action gives us pause; to think outside the main objective, recalibrate, the listening of needs to bring the resources required back on-board, and get all back on track.

What do you do if you need to delegate IT Strategy projects to junior team members?
I agree with all but would like to ADD a step: Career growth testing! One of the best managers (Rod) of my career to date; truly pushed me unexpectedly, tested us in small projects/Tasks, after learning our Career goal and perceived strengths/weaknesses. This let him & us know truth vs perception! He intentionally put us in teams of Pesky personalities/work ethics, making us really dig in; to figure things out. So not only could we see our TRUE stengths/Weaknesses 1st hand, but he could too ALL exeplified where we excelled in conflict, solutioning, and risk assessment ability that could be used large scale or where he could coach us. Solid leadership with growth opportunity as the end result!

CPY is a At Risk Youth Program that started in New York geared toward Middle school aged kids that were in "At-Risk" social situations (Gangs, drugs, crime). My tasks ranged from organizing activities to being an older mentor to the younger kids in how to deal with home life that was traditionally negative.
