Entering the AgTech problem space
I found out about an acute problem for organic farmers while working on Weedless Robotics with Dwijen Shah Mallicka Saxena and Devansh Saxena last year in Cincinnati with the support of University of Cincinnati's Center for Entrepreneurship. The problem - there are NO ORGANIC HERBICIDES! Some that people use when they are desperate cost upwards of 10X of non-organic herbicides. With a single application of non-organic herbicides organic farms risk losing their organic certification which can reduce revenue by 3X. What's the current solution? While some farms use cultivators or finger weeders, manual labor weeding is the most common solution! Why don't all farms use cultivators or finger weeders? They're unreliable and pose the risk of destroying crop yields. They're also extremely slow and are hard to operate! I propose to solve this with my new company ZAPTrack. I'm currently accepting angel checks as part of our pre-seed funding round!
