A downtown streetscape public engagement event in Spruce Pine was part of WithersRavenel’s Design + Planning team’s practice of meeting people where they are. Town Of Spruce Pine hosts a “Third Thursday” each month, and we took that opportunity to engage with the community on a streetscape plan. We asked them about what an improved streetscape was in their opinion as our team members presented visualizations for ideas and options. #wrlife #WhereYouBelong #WhereIBelong #ParkandRecMonth24

The Town of Cary and USA Baseball enhanced the original vision of the USA Baseball National Training Center Complex, a world-class facility and athletic destination for USA Baseball. WithersRavenel provided design and planning, land, site, and economic development, along with stormwater services. We worked collaboratively with Davis Kane Architects, P.A., to make this vision a reality. The expanded facility includes high-performance training capabilities with indoor batting, pitching, infield spaces and administrative offices, team clubhouse, lockers, team retail, and storage areas. Ok … so here is the post I came to make last time … getting back into the swing of things after some needed time off (pun intended). I got the opportunity to get a last minute ticket to the US Open at Pinehurst Resort (which is 15 minutes from my house). The goal was to “stay if it’s interesting, head out if not.” Well … it was definitely interesting. The video below shows the dichotomy of two short putts .. one missed and one made. I felt for Rory. But the bigger takeaway was how Bryson did two things: stepped into the moment to win the tournament (that 18th hole was a true display of grit!), and CELEBRATED the accomplishment. Let’s step into the last half of this year with the grit to win, and let’s celebrate it once we get there!! WithersRavenel

We celebrate Park and Recreation Month by highlighting Wake Stone Athletic Park in the Town of Knightdale, which is more than just another park. It is a collaboration among public and private entities that provides not just a place for recreation and youth soccer, but brings economic benefits to the area. The facility opened in 2021, and is a place for soccer and community activities. WithersRavenel is proud to have provided design and construction administration services along with grant application assistance for the park that includes a soccer complex with five soccer fields, parking areas, walking paths, a restroom/picnic shelter, and a playground. Future phases have been planned that could add more fields and amenities.
