NIST MEP’s Supply Chain Optimization and Intelligence Network (SCOIN) pilot program has entered its second year of kick-starting supply chain efforts across the country. The MEP National Network’s supply chain experts will continue to support manufacturers, helping them identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in their supply chains, while expanding single source dependencies. The Network will build on the many successes of SCOIN’s first year. One example of these early successes is the work the UT Center for Industrial Services (UT CIS, Tennessee MEP) did with their client Farmers Friend LLC. Farmers Friend’s strategy focused on enhancing their supply chain and inventory management systems to alleviate constraints. By improving material flow, Farmers Friend aimed to stabilize production schedules, reduce unnecessary costs, and enhance customer trust through reliable service delivery. UT CIS conducted a comprehensive analysis of Farmers Friend’s supply chain to identify critical bottlenecks and inefficiencies. They facilitated training sessions on value stream mapping, critical resource capacity planning, and demand forecast processes. #SupplyChain https://lnkd.in/eyrpyc_M
