Thank you to Mike Tamasi and his team at AccuRounds for welcoming Meganne Atkins, AUKUS Executive Director for Team Submarines and the New England Talent Pipeline Program Sponsor, as well as the New England Talent Pipeline Project team, to spend time at their facility. After discussing AccuRounds best practices and the ways in which they help to support the Defense Industrial Base, the team was given a tour around the facility where they were able to meet with several employees working on the floor. Visiting AccuRounds is always a great reminder that it's not just the big parts that support our National Defense. #TalentPipelineProject #TPP #TalentPipelineProgram #buildsubmarines #defenseindustrialbase #NETPP #newenglandtalentpipeline

In Mid-January, the New England Talent Pipeline Project’s Best Practice Model, Hutchinson Aerospace and Industry participated in Leadership Retention Training. The workshop was divided into two groups across a two-day period and focused on the development and strategies to retain and motivate high-performing employees. Upon completing the training, leaders were tasked with utilizing the 5th Metric Scorecard to evaluate and identify the performance of their teams. During the week of February 12th, the TMG Team visited to help with the first round of 5th Metric Report Outs. They met with individuals to assist in completing their scorecards, as well as meeting with different departments to help coach them on ways to improve their team engagement and performance. With the addition of these tools and training, the goal is to improve not only the engagement of employees but also to capitalize on what teams are doing right and keep that momentum going. #newenglandtalentpipeline #NETPP #bestpractices #5thmetricscorecard #leadershipretention https://lnkd.in/efg849Y2

Over 50 manufacturers attended the half-day session, which included updates from the Navy, Flag Lead, and the employers themselves on the status of their Talent Acquisition and retention efforts in Southwestern, Northern/Central Pennsylvania, and Ohio. Master Chief Jeffrey Hiscocks, Command Master Chief for US Navy Team Submarines and Sponsor for the Pittsburgh Flag, spoke to the audience, reinforcing the Navy’s commitment to this program. He stressed the important role that each and every employee from these companies plays in the defense of this country. “Talking with your employees about the WHY of what they do every day in their jobs is the single most important communication you can have with them,” he said. “The collaboration and dedication from employers that I see as I visit the individual flags of this program is exciting and shows that the Navy is poised to be able to meet its defense production responsibilities.” Attendees participated in several breakout sessions that allowed them to openly discuss challenges and successful strategies using the Talent Pipeline Program Toolkit. They also had briefings on the state of the Talent Pipeline Program Pittsburgh Flag and the 2024 Program Plan, along with the opportunity to network and meet with CMC Jeffrey Hiscocks individually. “TMG has over 290 manufacturers from the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states, 64 of them in the greater Pittsburgh and NE Ohio areas in this program, and we are dedicated to helping support the manufacturers in the submarine industrial base to meet their capacity commitments with a stable workforce,” says Vince Jordan, Pittsburgh/Philadelphia Flag Lead, from TMG of Virginia. “TMG has now been asked to begin rolling this out nationwide where there are high concentrations of Submarine Industrial Base manufacturers, like Southern California and potentially other areas. Gus Schroeder, President and Owner of Schroeder Industries LLC gave a briefing on his company’s journey with the Talent Pipeline Program as the Best Practice Model and reported on the early successes they’ve had in retaining top talent in just a little over three months in the program. “We’re seeing the positive impact in just over three months of participation in the Program.” TMG also announced the addition of Dave DiNardo as a Network Coach for the Pittsburgh Region and Charles Johnson, who will connect and broaden the employer partners in the Talent Pipeline Program for Northeast Ohio for Cohort 3, which starts in July 2024. #pghtalentpipeline #pittsburghtalentpipeline #talentpipelineprogram #buildsubmarines #dibtalentpipeline #defenseindustrialbase https://lnkd.in/eUHBEWSj

On Wednesday, 1 February 2024, the New England Talent Pipeline Project hosted its first Midyear Team Update and Sharing Event at the Babson Executive Center in Massachusetts. The event hosted nearly 60 representatives from employers, facilitators, and training providers across the region to engage in thoughtful discussions focused on the Talent Acquisition and Retention process. The group was divided into four breakout sessions to dive deeper into the major issues employers are running into in their Recruiting, Hiring, Onboarding, and Retention processes and find new and improved ways to fix these issues. Key drivers for success were identified and shared among participants. Command Master Chief Jeff Hiscocks closed out the afternoon with a reminder of the importance of not only the program but also the work that all of those in attendance do for not only the Navy, but also the safety and stability of the country. The event served as a valuable platform for generating a collaborative and insightful discussion as well as encouraging people to network and promote success within the New England Talent Pipeline Community. #netpp #newenglandtalentpipeline Build Submarines #talentpipeline #dibtalentpipeline #talentpipelineprogram https://lnkd.in/eR7YvvWR
