IESNYC Spotlight on Diversity: June 2024 This month, we shine a light on Nira Wattanachote, Senior Associate at Cline Bettridge Bernstein Lighting Design Inc. Nira’s journey from Thailand to the US was marked by resilience and growth. With over 20 years in the industry, she’s known for her dedication to sustainability and innovation in lighting design. Her mentor, Francesca Bettridge played a key role in her development, teaching her the importance of communication and leadership. As an educator at Pratt Institute and the Fashion Institute of Technology, Nira passes on her knowledge and experience to the next generation of lighting designers. „Every project or situation has unique challenges and the most important thing is to be able to adapt and work through problems as a team,“ she says.
