Honoring a Hero: Major Ivan Castro 🌟 As a veteran-owned business and proud supporter of @TunneltoTowers, we commemorated our 50th anniversary in May by raising funds to build a smart home for a critically injured veteran. Today, we are privileged to share the extraordinary journey of Retired Army Major Ivan Castro, a true national hero. Major Castro's story epitomizes resilience and unwavering determination following losing his sight in combat. Despite this challenge, he has completed over 80 marathons and scaled Mount Kilimanjaro, all while dedicated to his service in the Army. His remarkable path to recovery defied expectations as he fought to continue his military career despite his injuries. He returned as a Special Forces soldier, proudly serving as the sole blind soldier in his unit until his retirement a decade later. With incredible support from our community, we raised nearly $2.6 million to construct a mortgage-free smart home tailored precisely to his unique requirements. The home will have state-of-the-art features to ensure his comfort and accessibility.
