Community Time Off (CTO) allows Texas Health employees to serve and volunteer with outside organizations, schools and nonprofits in our local service areas. And our employees have really been busy supporting our communities. • Texas Health Fort Worth's L&D nurses recently spent the day volunteering with Taste Project and the Taste Community Restaurant here in our medical district. Cooking, hosting and waiting tables, they helped to pay it forward and assure that everyone has access to a delicious, nutritious meal! • Members of Texas Health Alliance's Laboratory team recently stepped out of the lab and spent time volunteering at Community Storehouse. • Members of Texas Health Frisco's Physical and Occupational Therapy team recently visited a local assisted living facility to volunteer their time in showing residents ways to prevent falls, improve dexterity, and encourage cognitive connections that will help our "seasoned and experienced" community members stay safe. We love giving back to the communities we serve. #Get2KnowTexasHealth #GivingBack #ServingOurCommunity #Volunteering

Get to know Texas Health! Meet Amanda Pineda, B.S.N., R.N., PCCN, who recently began a new role as the hospital’s bariatric and reflux coordinator, after working as a charge nurse on the gastrointestinal (GI) team at Texas Health Arlington Memorial. Amanda is in our employee spotlight and talks about her new role and who inspired her to be a nurse. When asked what is your favorite part of nursing, Amanda said, “My favorite part is being able to help patients and provide them with the best care. Another part of the job I see now as an aspiring educator is really helping our staff by providing the education they need. There’s a lot of job satisfaction in helping patients and helping staff help patients.” We love supporting our employees as they grow in their careers at Texas Health! https://bit.ly/4cLLwwA #Get2KnowTexasHealth #EmployeeStory #EmployeeSpotlight #TexasHealthNurses #NurseResidency #NursingCareers

Our care teams are AMAZING! When staff in Texas Health Fort Worth's Interventional Radiology department learned a patient undergoing chemo was going to miss her high school graduation ceremony, they decided to bring the graduation ceremony to her. Lindsay Schofield, B.S.N., R.N., called the oncology floor charge nurse with their notion, and the idea quickly took flight. “A couple days later, I got a huge influx of emails from people I didn’t even know that were so willing to help and excited,” Lindsay said. “It was going to be something little and kind of cheesy just to try to make her smile, and it turned into this really big celebration for her.” Carrie Pape, a senior administrative assistant for nursing operations and oncology, helped spread the word among fellow AAs around the hospital. Before long, other departments were chipping in for gifts, writing notes of encouragement and congratulations and lending a hand. We're so thankful for our care teams and how they go above and beyond for our patients. Texas Health is expanding its surgical robotic fleet to enhance surgeon precision with the goal of improving patient outcomes across the system. The da Vinci 5 by Intuitive is designed to aid surgical precision, with more than 150 new enhancements to support surgeon autonomy and care team efficiency. This system enables surgeons to feel more and see more during procedures, with a next-generation 3D display and image processing. “This expansion of robotic support for our care teams further demonstrates our capabilities in robotic technology and the future of robotic surgery,” said Brian Craft, senior vice president, Hospital Channel Financial Operations and chair of the Texas Health Robotic Governance Committee. Check out a few pictures of our care teams with the da Vinci 5 and learn more about the innovative system here: https://bit.ly/3W3zeds #Get2KnowTexasHealth #Innovation
