So excited to have been interviewed by “The Attorney Post” for a VIDEO PODCAST. Please check it out below, along with the article they wrote: “Recently, our Attorney Post podcast was graced with the presence of Kyriacos Tsircou, an esteemed name in intellectual property law and a pioneer in the burgeoning private space exploration sector, often referred to as the New Space industry. The enlightening discussion illuminated Kyri's depth of knowledge and unique perspective on these interdisciplinary domains. Kyri is a unique blend of technical and legal expertise, boasting a B.S. in Astronautical Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy and a J.D. from Loyola Law School. His eight-year tenure as an officer in the U.S. Air Force, overseeing key research and development initiatives, mainly in the realm of satellites and communication networks, has endowed him with a unique skillset that he applies deftly in his legal practice. The engaging discourse with Kyri traversed his early career transition from engineering to law, his experience with complex patent cases, and his representation of a vast spectrum of technology sectors. He illuminated the ever-changing dynamics of intellectual property law and debunked common misconceptions businesses hold about intellectual property rights. As a partner in Syndicate 702, a Southern California-based accelerator and investment group for startups, and through his extensive clientele, including names like Poquito Más, Dzyne Technologies, and TaylorMade Golf Company, Kyri brought a unique perspective on the pivotal role of intellectual property strategy in securing funding and stimulating innovation. One of the most captivating segments of the episode was when Kyri discussed his engagement in the New Space industry. He shared his expert views on the ongoing patent disputes over reusable rockets, a topic he has critically analyzed in his previous publications. He also offered his predictions about how intellectual property rights could transform in the wake of novel technologies like AI, blockchain, and automation. Kyri Tsircou's appearance on the Attorney Post podcast was a rich tapestry of insights that brought clarity to the often convoluted world of intellectual property law. His compelling blend of technical and legal prowess, coupled with his entrepreneurial insight, painted an invigorating picture of the industry's future and the exciting challenges that lay ahead. This episode is a must-listen for those keen on intellectual property law, the New Space industry, or the intriguing nexus of technology and law.” #theattorneypost #iplaw #iplawyer #spacelaw #spaceindustry #innovation #patents #trademarks #startups #tech https://lnkd.in/gjSwwbrt

BIG NEWS IN THE SPACE INDUSTRY! A newly introduced bipartisan bill, The Space Infrastructure Act, will designate space systems, services and technology as a sector of critical infrastructure. “Space is infrastructure. So many things we rely on, such as navigation systems, banking, and communications systems, function with the help of technology in space. Designating space as a critical infrastructure sector will help ensure the industry receives the attention and resources it needs, thereby strengthening our national security.” Reps. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) This is a very exciting time in the space industry. DM me so we can discuss how this may positively impact your business. The U.S. Space Force plans to increase providers in the national security launch program due to growing satellite launch demand and concerns about a shortage of heavy-lift rockets in the future. The next procurement, National Security Space Launch Phase 3, aims to ensure competitive pricing and access to launch supply. About 88 missions are expected between 2027-2032. Up to three heavy-lift providers will be selected, reducing reliance on SpaceX and United Launch Alliance. Companies with rockets in development can apply if ready for flight by October 2026. Final bids are due by the end of the year, with contracts awarded in October 2024. https://lnkd.in/gTC7mTRJ #USSF #SpaceForce #CommercialSpaceInudstry
