In 1954, Bill Simmons emerged as a pivotal figure in the transformation of Siloam Springs and greater Northwest Arkansas. He had a vision to harness the power of the region's waterways through the construction of dams. Recognizing the untapped potential of these natural resources, Simmons set out to secure the necessary approvals, navigating a complex maze of bureaucratic challenges and environmental considerations.      Simmons' dedication to this cause was a testament to his deep-rooted commitment to community progress. He was convinced that the future of Siloam Springs depended directly on the well-being of its residents. This belief spurred him to become an active participant in the Chamber of Commerce, where he lent his voice and expertise to pivotal discussions about the town's future.  But his contributions did not stop there. Our interns have had another busy and productive week!      They started the week sharpening their skills with presentation and delivery practice for their end-of-summer projects. That was followed by career development rotations focused on resume building, interview skills, reviewing offer letters, and more. Later in the week, they enjoyed the annual float trip on the Illinois River complete with yard games and a lunch that included wings prepared by Simmons’ Live Operations team.      With just a couple of weeks left in their internship, we're proud of how they work hard and play hard together.    Don't forget that Simmons has been nominated as a Top 100 Intern Program. Simmons interns spent this past weekend giving back to our communities by partnering with the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank. They packed 4,128 bags of chicken into 500 boxes, providing approximately 10,000 meals for families in the area!    We are proud of our interns for their commitment to serving others while continuing to do real work this summer.    #DoRealWork #SimmonsFoods

Today, Simmons Foods announced it will provide a $100,000 donation to support the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank. The donation will pay out over four years beginning in 2024. The food bank, which serves four counties in NWA, recently moved into the new Claude and Betty Harris Center for Hunger Relief which will broaden their impact in Northwest Arkansas.
