About us
Savannah River Mission Completion, LLC (SRMC) has been awarded the Savannah River Site Integrated Mission Completion Contract (SRS IMCC) by U.S Department of Energy’s Office of Environmental Management (DOE EM). SRMC comprises parent company BWX Technologies, Inc. with partners Amentum and Fluor. Critical scope covered under SRS IMCC includes, but is not limited to: Liquid Waste Stabilization/Disposition, and may include Nuclear Materials Management and Stabilization; Project Management and Support Services; Storage of Liquid Radioactive Waste; Remediation, Treatment, and Disposal of Nuclear Materials, Spent Nuclear Fuel; Remediation and Treatment of Contaminated Surface Water, Groundwater and Soils; and, Decontamination of Nuclear Facilities and Equipment. The contract has an estimated ceiling of approximately $21 billion over a 10-year ordering period.

A group of SRMC summer interns were able to get hands on and help a local resident through the United Way of Aiken County, Inc. service project called Project V.I.S.I.O.N. With the placement of 25 wall sections, 208 support columns, and seven roof sections, SRMC has completed all major concrete placements on Saltstone Disposal Unit 10, the latest mega-size disposal unit being built at the #SavannahRiverSite, bringing the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Environmental Management a step closer to achieving the #SRS liquid waste mission. All donations will help fund Children’s Place, a therapeutic and behavioral health child and family development center that works to protect, heal, and strengthen children and families from the impact of trauma and other adverse experiences. SRMC, the U.S. Department of Energy’s liquid waste contractor at the #SavannahRiverSite, received concurrence from federal and South Carolina regulators that the waste has been successfully removed from Tank 10, and that the next step in the tank’s closure process can begin. In its 28 years, the Shielded Canister Transporter (SCT) has traveled 1,980 miles between the Defense Waste Processing Facility and the two Glass Waste Storage Buildings — a trek equal to 792 laps around the Daytona International Speedway. SRMC mechanics recently completed important repair work on the one-of-a-kind vehicle to ensure continued, reliable movement of the #SavannahRiverSite liquid waste mission.
