Field Safety Representative Ron Sevier had the opportunity to travel to Houston, TX for 3M's Fall Protection Competent Person Training Program last month. With varying jobsite situations and specific requirements for them, understanding the solutions available to workers is crucial in mitigating risk and preventing injury. Ron feels privileged to further develop his safety skillset as he continues to grow with #OneRoyal Starting as a project assistant with Royal Electric in 2021, Ron went on to receive a promotion to field engineer about five months later and transitioned into his current role on the Safety Team last summer. Earlier this summer #OneRoyal’s OSHA Authorized Construction Trainers, Safety Manager Jeff Birchard and Field Safety Manager Patrick McGuire, organized an OSHA 30 Hour class for our teams. Including classroom instruction and hands on activities they covered documentation and reporting, stairs and ladders, confined space, fire protection, concrete and masonry construction, caught in or between and struck by, personal protective equipment, excavations, fall protection and scaffolds, health hazards as well as electrical safety.
