Civil and construction engineers are crucial in bolstering infrastructure and building success. Carissa Nakao, engineering team lead at Rosendin, joined Rosendin after graduating from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, eventually transitioning to the Rosendin Renewable Energy Resource Group. Here, Nakao learned how to design utility-scale solar projects. Working in renewables, Nakao has learned to become flexible and stay on the cutting edge of technology. With constant changes and the need for unique solutions, a career in construction always keeps Nakao engaged. After more than six years of construction, the newly remodeled Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center proudly stands alongside the 101 Freeway in #TarzanaCalifornia. During the construction project, Rosendin's team worked alongside the cooperative hospital staff to coordinate and plan power shutdowns throughout the campus and provide emergency power backup to keep the hospital up and running, including the emergency room operable at all times. Rosendin is proud to partner with local medical professionals to construct cutting-edge medical facilities to better serve communities and patients. Bringing the ball game to life at Oracle Park, home of the San Francisco Giants. Built by a real baseball fan, this park features breathtaking views and a classic design reminiscent of other notable baseball fields, such as Wrigley Field. Rosendin provided 142 miles of electrical conduit and 426 miles of electrical wiring to light up the field for the energetic crowd at this impressive stadium. The total connected electrical load for this project is 17MW with an anticipated demand load of 9MW, making the electrical demands of the ballpark equivalent to 450 homes! Good luck to the San Francisco Giants in their series against the Braves this week!

Harvey Milk, a dedicated American politician, community leader, and advocate for gay rights, made history in 1977 by becoming the first openly gay man to be elected to public office in California. Though his time in politics was brief, Milk's impact was profound, making him an enduring symbol of hope and inspiration in San Francisco and a revered figure in the LGBTQ+ community. The Harvey Milk Terminal at the San Francisco International Airport was named after Milk to honor his legacy and invite travelers from around the world to learn more about Harvey Milk and his contribution to San Francisco. This terminal is LEED Platinum Certified, providing a world-class, environmentally friendly travel experience. Rosendin was contracted as the Technology Systems Design-Builder and Systems Integrator for the Terminal 1 Center Project. Our role includes the complete design, construction, integration, and commissioning of various technology systems across the terminal playing a pivotal role in creating the sustainable travel experience. Meet Nick R., Office Manager of the Austin RREG and proud graduate of UT-Austin and Austin Community College. Last year, Nick organized his past employer’s annual Pride event, which grew from 25 employees to 50+, supporting a local LGBTQ+-friendly business. Nick has been with Rosendin for four months and is passionate about bringing positive vibes and laughter to the Austin office. “What empowers me to be my best authentic self at work is what makes me happiest. I learned pretty early on that I am an amazing human and friend, regardless of what anyone else thinks. My authentic self provides kindness, wit, and laughter to everyone, regardless of who they are. Bringing smiles and laughter to my work and home life is all I can ask for.” Thank you, Nick, for bringing your positive and energetic attitude to work every day while also reminding everyone to smile throughout the day! #LeadInspireBuild #BuildingPeople #Pride #Rosendin #Pride2024 #HappyPrideMonth

The completion of the Harvey Milk Terminal 1 Center Project was celebrated on June 1st with a family day and classic car gathering organized by San Francisco International Airport. The event was open to all past and present project team members, their families, event volunteers, classic car owners, and guests. It was an excellent opportunity for everyone involved to look at the terminal early before it opened to the public. Rosendin proudly displayed our classic 1919 Ford Model T at the gathering. Congratulations to our teams who worked on this project and all who contributed to the success of this project milestone! #VintageCars #CarShow #HarveyMilkTerminal #SFO #Rosendin #BuildingQuality
