Meet Gary, our #RehabStar of the Month! 🌟 Gary's journey with us at Southwestern began six months ago after an extensive heart surgery left him severely deconditioned. When he arrived in December, he couldn't walk, get out of bed, or feed himself. But with incredible determination and the support of his loving family, Gary embarked on an inspiring journey to regain his independence. Working tirelessly with our occupational, physical, and speech therapists, Gary began making progress. At the one-month mark, he felt like giving up, but his perseverance and the dedication of our therapy and nursing teams kept him going. After just three months, Gary was walking with a walker, and by the time of his discharge, he achieved complete independence with his mobility and self-care. His hard work and resilience paid off, allowing him to return home to his family with strength and confidence. We are so proud of Gary and his incredible journey.
