Last week, our Washington based PetWise team put on their gardening gloves and grabbed their shovels to spend some time volunteering at WHATCOM HUMANE SOCIETY. Whatcom Humane Society (WHS) is the oldest animal-welfare non-profit in Whatcom County, where our Washington team reside. WHS staff and volunteers care for approximately 4,500 domestic, wild, and farm animals at their three shelters. WHS also provides animal control and rescue services, educational workshops, adoption events, and much more for our community. Our employees took some time to weed and re-lay wood chips along the field trail behind the shelter. This trail is used daily by volunteers and prospective pet parents to walk shelter pups and get some bonding time. We also helped set up some vegetable starts for their smaller domestic animals, fill potholes in their parking lot, and prepare some enrichment toys for shelter pups. PetWise is grateful for all the work Whatcom Humane does for our community, and we appreciate them having us on site to help them with some work, and play with some puppies!
