  • We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Ben Camper as the new Chief Executive Officer of Austin Fitness Group, one of the largest area representative franchisee ownership platforms in the Orangetheory Fitness system. Ben brings a wealth of fitness franchising experience, operational DNA and a passion for building highly effective teams through talent development, process implementation and execution.   Ben joins Austin Fitness Group after serving as President of Basecamp Fitness since 2020. Under Ben’s leadership, Basecamp grew from 6 studios to 28 studios in 13 states and 2 additional countries. Basecamp Fitness is owned by Self Esteem Brands, who recently merged with Orangetheory Fitness to create Purpose Brands, the largest fitness franchising organization in the world.   Earlier in his career, Ben served as Senior Director of Strategic Operations at 24 Hour Fitness, where he led a team focused on creating, piloting, executing, and scaling transformational initiatives that generated organizational value and improved member engagement, including the design and launch of the 24GO mobile app with 1M+ active monthly users. He has also served in general management and multiunit management roles with increasing span and responsibility at both 24 Hour Fitness and Extra Space Storage (NYSE: EXR). Through his experience, he has managed P&Ls of $50-70 million with a track record for building and sustaining winning cultures within an organization.   Ben is active in his local community and professional network, serving as an advisor to undergraduate students and a volunteer youth coach. He holds an MBA with specializations in Finance and Entrepreneurship from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University and is an active fundraising leader for both universities. He was a Division I athlete at Colgate and briefly played professional hockey prior to his business career. Please join us in welcoming Ben Camper to AFG!
