Ohio Valley Goodwill and Visionaries + Voices partnered to inspire artists to upcycle fashion! V+V Teaching Artists visited the Goodwill to collect clothing, silk ties, bags, and belts for participants in Wearable Art and Fashion Design Summer Camp. The materials sponsored by Goodwill served as the base for designs to create functional and artistic fashion. Campers then created their own wearable art and gained hands-on experience with fashion design and construction. We are delighted to be part of efforts to harness inclusion through sustainable means - all the while highlighting the many creative ways in which we can empower and enhance our community and its people. Happy #DisabilityPrideMonth! For the first time ever, the Disability Pride flag is flying over City Hall. We were honored to join City of Cincinnati leaders, LADD, and many other organizations for a historic day celebrating the disability community. It was inspiring to see so many people attend Monday’s Disability Pride Cincy kick-off and show why inclusion and accessibility matter for everyone!

Celebrating Juneteenth - for "It's an opportunity to both look back but to look ahead to make sure that that notion of freedom and the fragility of it is always protected and celebrated." —Lonnie Bunch Recognizing Juneteenth, we emphasize freedom, opportunity, and self-sufficiency — key elements of our programs empowering all individuals, especially those from historically marginalized communities. Together, we foster a nation and world that values equity and inclusion, respects all people, and enables everyone to harness their unique abilities to advance society. https://lnkd.in/eeB32fS #Juneteenth #Celebration #Freedom #Equity #Inclusion

The 2024 ShareFest Donation Drive, which promotes responsible recycling during campus move-out, takes place from May 16th to May 21st in partnership with the City of Oxford, Ohio and Miami University. Ohio Valley Goodwill is proud to have served as the official Donation Sponsor over the past 10 years, collaborating with the City of Oxford, Miami University, and local non-profits - last year, the effort has diverted over 70 tons of items out of area landfills. Although Senator George Lang could not make it to the event on May 17th, he indicated "while I regretfully was unable to attend today’s ShareFest, I was delighted to see our today’s turnout. The group of individuals who dedicated their time to volunteer today represent the best that Butler County has to offer: humility, sacrifice, and generosity. Goodwill has been a longstanding ally in our community, and I will continue to support their efforts to improve the lives in Butler County and our great State.” Thank you to all the donors, volunteers, and city officials in making this effort such a success! https://lnkd.in/eeRmgpAV #Donation #Event #MiamiUniversity
