Yesterday, Ogilvy DC had the honor of partnering with Robert Allbritton and the Allbritton Journalism Institute to host a conversation on the ever so-important topic of representation in the newsroom, moderated by the wonderful and inspiring Wesley Lowery. For anyone in Washington this week, you know it’s a busy time ahead of the White House Correspondents Dinner this weekend – so to be able to take a moment out to have this dialogue with other leaders and communicators was really meaningful. Wes led a terrific talk on how businesses and the media alike can find different paths to getting younger, diverse journalists trained up and into the field – or adjacent fields – despite ongoing newsroom cutbacks. At Ogilvy DC, much of our work focuses on building cultural movements that drive real structural change – moving hearts and minds, rather than products. And one of the reasons I was so excited to partner with AJI was because of the intersection of this issue with the work we do. To build the types of movements we create, we need both more representative centers of power in corporate America and more representative news media. And that starts with fostering new, diverse voices through programs like AJI’s Reporting Fellowship. Thank you again to Wes, Robert and Imperfecto for having us – let's continue the conversation.

Getting to lead the Ogilvy DC office has its many rewards, but one of the best things is getting to gather the entire team for our annual retreat. The inimitable Reggie Black kicked us off and anointed the DC office with his audacity. Our very own creative and strategy giants Kristie Pope and Alan Cruz brought us through their vision of Creative Excellence (the key is #Collabtivity). Then our art-loving Head of Creative ops, Valerie Vardaro, helped us illustrate our 'word of the year' to guide us throughout the rest of 2024. We embraced creativity and collaboration. Excited to leverage our renewed energy and insights to drive innovation and success! #TeamBuilding #Creativity #Innovation 2023 was a year of reinvention, integration, and growth. In 2024 we’re pushing ourselves to be a center of creative advocacy and excellence. What's on your 2024 vision board?

The countdown is on to the Big Game! Yuki Sugiyama says that #TaylorSwift will make it and he knows #alltoowell, but we are not #outofthewoods yet. Will she make it before #midnights?
I would like to inform my very serious LinkedIn connections that I am diligently working on Public Diplomacy. https://lnkd.in/e6NZqrpc
