Outside + Bozeman = Oboz | B Corp Certified

About us

Outside + Bozeman = Oboz 🥾 Right outside our front door, the mountains just outside Bozeman beckon us. It's this 18-million-acre laboratory where we test our designs and inspire ideas, and where we just soak it all in. It even inspired the name “Oboz”. Each day we come to work, we simply do our best to live up to this gift. Here at Oboz, we are hikers, we are walkers, we are runners, we are bikers, we are anglers…we are many things, and yet we’re all connected on the trail. It's this lifelong love of the trail that enables our designers to create footwear that's remarkably durable, comfortable, and always worthy of the task at hand. Our philosophy is simple. Design the kind of footwear that we'd want to wear.

Tomorrow is the anniversary of the Antiquities Act, which empowers presidents to designate national monuments, and we’re thrilled to announce that over 100 companies have signed the Mobilizing for Monuments Pledge. This pledge calls on the Biden administration to protect more public lands through national monument designations and expansions. National Monuments are one of the most effective ways to permanently protect public lands, generating dual benefits for  individuals, businesses, and communities.  Mobilizing for Monuments was created by business leaders in the outdoor space to protect over 3 million acres of public lands. The support of these companies underscores how national monuments play a vital role in fostering a $1.1 trillion outdoor recreation economy.

Yesterday, alongside The Station Foundation, we put our commitment to work in rebuilding trail access for Special Forces Warriors (active duty and retired) to utilize during their homecoming. The Station Foundation’s Homecoming project provides week long events for SOF Warriors, Spouses, and Children to increase self awareness, improve family connectedness, and manage stress/energy levels through the great outdoors. 🏔️ 🥾 🌱

Appreciate the review Rock Fight, LLC gave for our new style, The Katabatic Wind! Give it a listen ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/gzCw4y5W

Founder at Rock Fight | Writer | Producer | Host of THE ROCK FIGHT | Likes coffee and going outside

When Oboz Footwear President Amy Beck reached out and offered to send Justin Housman and I some boots to review for Gear & Beer I was worried because I'm not a boot or hiking shoe guy. I like hiking in trail runners and have for a long time. So my concern was that Amy was going to send something that wouldn't be a match for me. And you know what? Turns out I was right. The Katabatic Wind Low is not my kind of shoe. But damn if it isn't awesome and something for the entire industry to learn from. On today's Gear & Beer (currently part of THE ROCK FIGHT but soon to be its own thing) Justin and I go deep on why the Katabatic Wind Low is a unicorn in the hiking shoe space and needs to be celebrated. This a seriously dope shoe and even if it's not for me, people need to pay attention to it. Because there is a lot that Obōz's competitors can learn by making actual low cut hiking shoes and not just a brown or grey overly built sneakers. And keeping the Montana theme going, we then pair the Katabatic's with Montucky Cold Snacks! A couple of Bozeman classics and a truly perfect post activity pairing. Listen to this episode in the comments or wherever you listen to your pods.

This short film tells the story of his accomplishment and what makes the Katabatic Wind so revolutionary.
