We are so thrilled to welcome Carolyn Kriss as our new chief operating officer at Nourishing Hope! Carolyn is a veteran leader with more than 20 years experience in the public and private sectors. Most recently, she was the vice president of strategy for Tovala, a food tech start-up. She’s also held leadership roles at Starbucks, DoorDash and Capsule. A Chicagoland native, Carolyn has a passion for helping people in need. “I could not be more excited to join Nourishing Hope,” Carolyn said. “The opportunity brings together all my passions — public service, food, scaling organizations, and leading teams — in support of serving neighbors in the city that I love.” The addition of the chief operating officer role to Nourishing Hope is made possible by the Northern Trust Anchor Award, a $1 million grant awarded last fall to bolster Nourishing Hope’s ability to serve more young people on Chicago’s South and West Sides. Food for Today, Hope for Tomorrow
About us
For more than 50 years, Nourishing Hope (formerly Lakeview Pantry) has served as an invaluable resource in Chicago, ensuring our low-income neighbors have enough to eat and have access to critical, and sometimes lifesaving, social services. Together, we have directly improved the lives of thousands of our community members. Last year we provided over 200,000 food, mental health and social services throughout the city. We distribute the equivalent of more than 4.5 million meals annually. Our Mission: Nourishing Hope through food, mental health and social services so that all of our neighbors can thrive. We envision a city where all people have the resources needed for a dignified life. Join us to provide food for today, and hope for tomorrow.

Thank you for volunteering with us, Great Lakes Credit Union and GLCU Foundation for Financial Empowerment team!
I had an amazing time volunteering at Nourishing Hope with one of my coworkers, Stephen Farias! They are a great organization that has a mission of Nourishing Hope through food, mental health and social services so that all of our neighbors can thrive and live in a city where all people have the resources needed for a dignified life. Great Lakes Credit Union and GLCU Foundation for Financial Empowerment truly believe in the power of giving back, and I'm proud to be part of a company that encourages us to volunteer and support those in need. Together, we can create a positive impact and bring hope to others. ❤️ #CommunityService #Volunteering #GivingBack
