On June 29, 2024, an exciting new exhibit will open at the New York State Military Museum in Saratoga Springs, New York that highlights the history of the U.S. Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program and the contributions to the advancement of the Program made here in New York. The exhibit, titled, “From New York to the Nuclear Navy” was developed in collaboration between the Naval Nuclear Laboratory, Naval Reactors, the Submarine Force Library and Museum Association in Groton, Connecticut and the New York State Military Museum. Providing an immersive experience, it includes over 60 artifacts from across the Program, kids activities and QR codes that provide a portal to films, presentations and websites with additional information. To celebrate the opening of the exhibit to the public there will be ice cream, a brass band, activities for children, and representatives from the U.S. Navy and Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel on hand. The exhibit is expected to run through June 2025. The museum is located at 61 Lake Avenue, Saratoga Springs, New York 12866, open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission is free.

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory includes the Bettis and Knolls Atomic Power Laboratories, the Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and the Naval Reactors Facility which have proudly supported the nation since 1946. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory has nearly 8,000 employees working at primary locations in Pennsylvania, New York, South Carolina, and Idaho. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory also has an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations around the globe. We are dedicated solely to the support of the United States Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.
