🌟 Last week, our amazing Senior Director of PR and Brand Partnerships, Adriana Autie, hosted a Lunch + Learn session, sharing her journey with our interns. 🌟 Adriana shared her inspiring career in the fashion, beauty, and PR industries, emphasizing the importance of hard work, flexibility, and resilience. From leading global PR agencies to managing brand partnerships and transitioning from skincare to makeup, Adriana's path to Milk Makeup has been remarkable. She spoke about her college days, where she changed her major multiple times before discovering her true calling in digital communication and media, aligning with her passion for social media. Adriana advised our interns not to be afraid to change their majors, as it’s important to work towards what you love. Adriana shared her words of wisdom on seizing opportunities, learning from mistakes, and not being discouraged by setbacks. She encouraged us to view challenges as growth opportunities and to remain open to new career paths. One key takeaway was the value of hard work and dedication. Adriana emphasized that success requires perseverance and a willingness to take on lower-level tasks. Her advice to commit wholeheartedly to our work resonated deeply with all of us. ✨ MMU Lunch and Learn Recap ✨: Last week, we had an incredible Lunch and Learn session hosted by our amazing Content Manager, Blossom Brown. Blossom shared her personal background and her journey with Milk Makeup, inspiring our interns with her story. Early in her high school years, Blossom discovered her passion for working with kids while working at a daycare. This experience inspired her to dream bigger and pursue a career in teaching. Blossom's journey took her from pursuing an elementary education degree with a focus on French to discovering a passion for teaching Spanish and Italian. After teaching at a high school in Italy for a year, she continued her education, earning a master's degree in multilingualism in education. Throughout her experiences, Blossom highlighted opportunities for language learning and teaching, as well as the challenges of being a young, openly trans teacher in conservative environments. Seeking a new career path and following her passion for social media, Blossom reached out to Milk Makeup, expressing her interest in working for the brand. Since then, Blossom has taken part in many of our launches and has grown incredibly with Milk. She encouraged our interns to be curious and to take risks because you never know what's waiting for you. Follow your dreams and your passions, even if they seem far from reach. Blossom remembers starting with just two viewers and now reaching millions of views on socials. Milk Makeup X The Center's Garden Party 🌈 We were thrilled to join The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center’s Pride celebration, kicking off Pride Week in New York City last week! Milk Makeup had an incredible time at The Center's Garden Party, creating an immersive experience to celebrate Pride. Our tent featured a vibrant ball pit filled with makeup samples like Kush Mascara and Matte Bronzer, along with special surprises like Jelly Tints. Guests enjoyed a selfie-ready space with Milk EQ lighting, mirrors, and colorful vinyls, engaging with our team to embrace self-expression and celebrate individuality in a fun and inclusive atmosphere. We wanted everyone to "Live Your Look" on this special night. We loved being part of this annual event and were amazed by the incredible turnout at our tent. We are grateful for the experience, the wonderful people we met, and the opportunity to celebrate with our community. 🌈 Celebrating Pride Month at Our All Hands Meeting 🌈 In honor of Pride Month, we hosted a special wellness session on "Pride through Radical Self-Acceptance" this past Monday. We were thrilled to welcome our special guest speaker, Yasmin Benoit, to lead this important discussion. During the session, Yasmin explored how fully embracing your LGBTQ+ identity fuels personal pride. We delved into radical self-acceptance, and Yasmin discussed how different identities intersect and influence self-acceptance within the LGBTQ+ community. She also provided valuable tools to cultivate self-love, emphasizing the importance of starting with self-understanding to foster a supportive environment. Yasmin Benoit is a leading British model and award-winning asexual activist, known for diversifying the modeling industry and advocating for the rights of underrepresented communities. She is also the creator of #ThisIsWhatAsexualLooksLike, a movement that highlights the diversity of asexual people. The day began with an inspiring vision board activity, where our interns collaborated to create vision boards reflecting their aspirations and goals for the internship and beyond 🎨 Our CEO, Tim Coolican, energized everyone with a captivating presentation on the history and essence of Milk Makeup.
