Great Eastern Resort Corporation, owner of Massanutten Resort in Rockingham County, Virginia near Harrisonburg, today announced the approval of a land donation to Rockingham County for the construction and operation of a year-round fire, rescue and emergency management station at Massanutten Resort. The resort does not anticipate the construction of the station for several years, and there is no immediate obligation for the county to proceed with its development. "Massanutten Resort is committed to contributing to the safety of our community,” says Steve Krohn, president and chief operating officer of Great Eastern Resort Corporation. “This new station will enhance emergency response capabilities and help to create a safer environment for everyone in the area.
