Did you know? Back in 1986, Landrum and Brown provided a Master Plan Study to Denver International Airport to plan out their runway expansion project. Throughout the planning, the airport chose its now-iconic pin-wheel shaped airport in order to help mitigate noise pollution and environmental impact. Check out some of the proposed options from our archives, and read more about the runway planning here: https://lnkd.in/g-P37nGE

L&B Recommits to its New Strategy for Asia Pacific For L&B, it was wonderful reconnecting with many familiar faces at the Passenger Terminal EXPO & CONFERENCE ✈️ in Frankfurt. It was an opportunity to speak to many of you in person and to add clarity around L&B’s new strategy for Asia Pacific. Globally, L&B has served our airport and aviation clients for 75 years, including the past 25 years in Asia Pacific - we are very proud of this legacy and are determined to preserve it. One of the secrets to our longevity has been our willingness and ability to adapt in an industry that never stands still. Earlier this year, we restructured and streamlined our physical offices and contracting entities while retaining core Asia-based resources across the various service lines. Our Shanghai Office will provide production and analytical support to our project staff in Australia and Southeast Asia. At PTE, it was great to meet so many people at the Sidara booth (L&B’s parent company), where the full range of the Group companies’ service credentials in aviation could be highlighted, including architecture, engineering, IT, BHS, security, sustainability, fuel facilities, and project management. This group strength can be leveraged to the benefit of clients who are seeking multi-service capabilities. Nonetheless, L&B’s approach is to remain agile, including providing traditional standalone planning services and teaming with external partners where these best meet client needs. To facilitate our new APAC Strategy, Gary Gibb has taken on a new role as our Regional Growth Manager — Asia Pacific based in Melbourne. Gary has been freed up from corporate responsibilities to focus on client needs. Peter A. Jolicoeur (周力克) will also take on a new APAC role in support of this initiative and provide a key link to our Shanghai Office where he is based. We are excited about the future and look forward to discussing our approach in more detail with our clients and partners! Landrum & Brown #APAC #PTE

Yesterday was a special day at the Cincinnati office as we welcomed our 3rd-grade Adopt A Class kids for a thrilling field trip! We spent the morning diving into the fascinating world of finances, aviation, and environmental concerns linked to airports. Throughout the 2023-2024 school year, we've had the joy of teaching them monthly classes centered around STEM topics, with a special focus on how they intersect with the aviation industry. It's been an incredible journey of learning and growth for both us and the students, and yesterday's visit was the cherry on top! Can't wait to see the impact these bright young minds will make in the future! #STEMeducation #AviationIndustry #FutureLeaders #AdoptaClass

🌍✈️ Happy Earth Day from L&B! 🌱🌞 Today marks a special moment for us as we celebrate a significant leap forward in environmental responsibility within the aviation industry. We are immensely proud to have partnered with the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) - O'Hare & Midway International Airports in the development and implementation of the groundbreaking Green Concessions Policy. The policy provides concessionaires at O'Hare and Midway with guidance and standards for minimizing waste, enhancing recycling and composting, generating demand for eco-friendly products, and providing healthier food options for passengers and employees. All concessionaires must adhere to the Policy’s requirements as listed in the CDA’s Sustainable Airport Manual (SAM). Through collaborative efforts with the CDA, we've been able to shape a policy that sets a new standard for eco-conscious practices in airport concessions. Policy elements include: • Eliminating the use of Styrofoam • Eliminating the use of plastic bags, plastic containers, and utensils • Using only environmentally friendly cleaning and hygiene products • Sourcing-separate recyclables and compostables from refuse waste streams • Using only biodegradable trash bags • Offering sustainably sourced foods and consumer products • Donating surplus food to the greatest extent allowable by food safety regulations As we commemorate Earth Day, we're reminded of the power of collective action in shaping a brighter, more sustainable future. Together with the CDA and our fellow concessionaires, we're proving that sustainability and success go hand in hand.

🚀 Exciting update from Los Angeles World Airports ImpactLAX Youth Program! 🚀 As part of Landrum & Brown's Day of Service, and National Engineers Week, prakash dikshit teamed up with local schools near LAX to inspire the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers. 🎓💡 We're dedicated to building strong ties with our community schools, encouraging aviation careers, and fostering a love for STEM fields. 🌟 Prakash had the opportunity to participate in a panel discussion at Hawthorne Math and Science Academy, where he shared his journey and insights with bright high school students known as aviators! ✈️ Alongside LAWA colleagues and fellow consultants, we delved into the world of aviation and engineering. But our engagement didn't stop there! Last week, Prakash had the opportunity to present to AP Physics students, diving deep into the intricacies of runways - from orientation to capacity. 🛫 Huge shoutout to Leonardo Soto, our newest team member, who volunteered to join and brought his fresh perspective to the table. 🙌 Let's keep inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders. #ImpactLAX #EngineersWeek #STEMeducation
