Bringing together communities and creating opportunities for on-going learning is fundamental to improving our rangelands. This week we had an opportunity to host conservationists, technologists, and ranchers across the Pacific Northwest at our event in Wenatchee, Washington. We had over 125 folks join us to learn about virtual fencing from the vence corp team, grazing insights from Alejandro Carrillo, and even a visit to the Wild Horse site to see regenerative grazing in action. The views of Mt Rainier weren't bad! This event wouldn't have been possible without the support of Conservation Northwest and the many Land Trusts and Conservation Districts that joined us. We're always on the look out to host more events - if your ranching community could benefit by bringing together educators, ranchers, and conservationists, reach out to our team!

Unlocking the Potential of the World's Rangelands
About us
Kateri is on a mission to unlock the potential of the world's rangelands. More than 25% of Earth's land is used for raising livestock, yet less than 1% of carbon credits are from soil carbon sequestration. Our product benefits ranchers in rural communities, improves soil health and animal outcomes, and can scale to make a material impact on climate change.

Kateri’s work would not be possible without the great insights of our ranch advisors in the field. We’re fortunate to work with the best around the country. Check out this great spotlight on our advisor Anna Clare Monlezun, PhD and her team at Rangeland Living Laboratory https://lnkd.in/gcb_Npje

Our very own James H. was recently published in Bison World Magazine discussing the potential to expand grasslands carbon markets to bison as well. While there is still much to be studied, it will be critical to engage all livestock in the fight to restore global grasslands
The carbon markets can do cool things - like help finance an expansion of the American Bison industry - as detailed here in the spring 24' edition of Bison World Magazine. Get your copy today! #grasslands #regenerative #agriculture #soilcarbon

Congratulations to our partner ranch, Camblin Livestock for being named a finalist for the Leopold Conservation Award! The Kateri founding team has been working with Mike and Danna before our company was even started. It was an honor to have them as one of our first partner ranches. Their dedication to stewarding these critical landscapes in Colorado has been an inspiration
CCALT is proud to be part of the Leopold Conservation Award. It's an annual celebration and partnership with the Sand County Foundation, Colorado Cattlemen's Association, and other friends to recognize the voluntary conservation efforts of our state's farm and ranching community. As the first of 27 states to take part in the award this year, we are excited to kick off another year of appreciating agricultural conservation efforts around the nation. Congrats to the 2024 Finalists: Camblin Livestock and McIntyre Ranch of Maybell, Colorado Hamill Ranch of Hamilton, Colorado Wagon Wheel Ranch of Yuma, Colorado https://lnkd.in/g2dsHmxS

The wildfires in the Panhandle have been devastating especially for the ranching community there. Kateri will be donating to the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association and will be on standby for any support we can offer. Our colleague James H. will be out there visiting with our ranchers in the coming weeks. We've been amazed but not surprised by all the help pouring into the area - we're proud to be part of such a resilient and supportive community. https://lnkd.in/gqSvUX79

At Kateri, we believe in the power of natural capital. Land stewards have a wealth of resources beyond their cattle. Carbon is just one way that we can help unlock that value. Recently we also supported one of our ranchers, Levi Kokes, in partnership with the Soil Carbon Initiative (SCI) to win a $20,000 grant that's going to help him fund new technologies on his property. These technologies will help Levi elevate the health of his soil, the productivity of his cattle, and sequester more carbon. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gTYb8aZJ

Kateri is always proud to support our ranchers as they work to spread the message of good land stewardship. We're excited to sponsor Jared Sorensen and his family as they host the AG Steward's Legacy Summit next week January 16-18. It's a great virtual event that will bring together a variety of industry leaders like Allan Crocket and Steve Campbell to speak on important topics from regenerative agriculture to ranch legacy planning.
