Looking back, Advocate and I had a charmed fundraising experience in the treacherous markets of Q4 2022. As a white queer cis woman with three small children, I experienced a wide range of privileges and challenges as I financed the company. This week, I'm lifting my head up from our build and looking out over a changed investing market to chart my course for the next round. It was grounding to commit my fundraising experience to the broader record in McKinsey's "Underestimated start-up founders" report as I bring Advocate's future into existence on the other side of my screen.
