Construction Inspectors JED Engineering, P.C., is a fast growing firm that specializes in providing construction management and inspection services to public sector clients in the New York metropolitan area. We are currently seeking Construction Inspectors to provide construction inspections of miscellaneous reinforced structural & architectural concrete work, underground utility excavation and installation, asphalt concrete paving, landscaping, structural steel erection and installation, and some electrical, mechanical and plumbing work at JFK International Airport. Requirements: · Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written. Verbal communication includes Engineer of Construction, Resident Engineer, Assistant Resident Engineer, and other contract staff and airport facility staff both in person and via two- way communications. · Experience in heavy bridge and roadway construction, pile, foundation and subgrade installation, airfield pavement construction, building demolition and site work and utility excavations and installation. · Experienced in various types of contracting methods including lump sum, unit price and net cost. · Ability to review plans for constructability and prepare comments. Knowledgeable in contract administration techniques to expedite contract work. · Proficiency necessary in Microsoft software including Word/Excel/Outlook. · Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited college or University. · Minimum 5 years experience inspecting construction work, varied in size (projects ranging from $500K to $50 million plus) and complexity (multiple crews and crew sizes per shift). · Valid Driver’s License required. · OSHA 30 hour certification required. Confined Space certification required NYC Local Law 52 scaffold certification required.
