Abortion bans, anti-trans legislation, the further militarization of the state, and other acts of patriarchal violence are directly connected. Let us ask you this: how has access to (or lack thereof) reproductive health services impacted your life? Now, imagine a world where Black women, femmes, and girls have FULL control over their bodies. Let’s actualize that! We’re raising $1 million for Black Reproductive Justice (RJ) alongside Black Feminist Future because we know that RJ is central to Black liberation. Donate today here: https://lnkd.in/gS8ZSeyF

Vice President, People Development and Culture

Three years ago, I took a leap and moved to Omaha, NE. Within my first week, I met Ashlei Spivey- Arthur and immediately felt like I was home. I felt "seen" and affirmed as a Black woman. Ashlei and I Be Black Girl have continuously accepted me for who I am - authentically and unapologetically. But, this post isn't about me... It's about I Be Black Girl's land mark moment today with the opening of their Anarcha Center - a free standing building committed to being a space for joy and abundance for Black women, femmes and girls. It's a space where we can partner to tackle systemic barriers to healthcare access; address disparities in outcomes for Black birthing folks; and inspire a future where access to quality care in the birthing journey is the norm for everyone. While we have great work ahead, I'm honored to be a part of this process. Congratulations I Be Black Girl! #healthequity #community

The Pioneers had an inspiring Tour and Panel Discussion at Children's Nebraska's Hospital Mammel Innovation Center and Heartland Workforce Solutions this month! At the Children's Hospital Mammel Innovation Center, we experienced the 3D Printing Lab which was amazing to see the potential of 3D printing in the medical field, from creating prosthetics to printing custom surgical models. We finished the morning session with a panel discussion about the incredible work happening at Children's Hospital and how technology is shaping the future of healthcare and health-oriented careers that are merging with cutting-edge technology! Thank you Ryan M. Cameron, Ed.D., CHCIO, CDH-E, and Matt Nielsen! In the afternoon, Heartland Workforce Solutions welcomed us with a tour and taught us about the connections they provide for job seekers, employers, and the community where they are strengthening Nebraska's workforce through workshops, resources, and collaboration. Thank you Erin Porterfield for having us! We finished the day off with a group discussion on I Be Black Girl's mission focusing on empowering women, girls, and femmes of color. Their work centers around reproductive justice, economic equity, and overall well-being. Thank you Bryonna Ward for leading this discussion! #ChildrensHospital #MammelInnovationCenter #HealthcareInnovation #STEM #WomenInSTEM #GirlPower

On June 28, 1969, a pivotal and defining moment led by Marsha P. Johnson, a Black trans woman, ignited a revolution for LGBTQIA+ rights across the nation. Marsha fought at the forefront of what is now known as the Stonewall Riot, challenging police brutality, violent ignorance, and plain hatred. This #PrideMonth🌈, we continue to celebrate and honor Marsha’s life and legacy✨. At I Be Black Girl, we move forward with boldness inspired by the remarkable resilience of Marsha P. Johnson and all the Black trans women who continue to fight for equity and liberation. We demand a world where all Black women, femmes, and girls can live whole, abundant lives.
