  • Taking advantage of the opportunity to enhance our workforce recruitment efforts, we were selected to participate in the New England Talent Pipeline Project (NETPP), a U.S. Navy-funded project that provides employers with the tools, training and resources they need to increase their capacity to build submarines. On May 30, Hutchinson CEO Bob Andersen, machinist Giovanni Ferrara, and high security area technicians Pol Feliu Colon and Giany Rivera attended NETPP’s inaugural National Signing Day in Boston, gathering with local shipbuilding companies and suppliers, elected officials and community leaders. The U.S. Navy Submarine Industrial Base (SIB) program held the event to celebrate its 31 new employer partnerships and the future of the defense workforce. According to TMG - Consulting Engineers, Inc the company engaged to administer the NETPP, the Navy has determined it needs to hire 10,000 people in the submarine industrial base for the next 10 years. As the global leader in protecting equipment and systems, managing shock loads and isolating structure borne noise in naval environments, we are well positioned to contribute to the mission. We look forward to maximizing our impact through participation in the NETPP! • Have you heard about the Hutchinson reHuse program? We’re saving our customers time and money while reducing waste by recovering and refurbishing customer-supplied used metal parts. Once received, we clean them, leaving only the original metal component, ready to be processed into a new part. The Hutchinson-produced reHuse new parts meet all customer original product specifications, eliminate the negative environmental impact from producing new metal parts and, because metals are recovered, reduce the overall Hutchinson cost of manufacturing. Read our latest case study to see how we saved one of our largest rail customers $1.2 million, shortened the time required to complete the project, and reduced treatment waste and CO2 by an estimated 40%: https://lnkd.in/e2D2zdhK. #reHuse #ReduceReuseRecycle #Manufacturing #CostSavings #Sustainability

  • Our parent company, TotalEnergies, is celebrating 100 years in business with the “100 Teams Tournament”—a rugby competition between employees from around the globe! We’re sending Bobbie Haggerty, Erlyn Santana and Tony Lazo to Houston on 6/20 for the USA competition. If they win, they’ll go on to play at the October world finals in France. Good luck, team! #TotalEnergies #RugbyTournament #Hutchinson #Centennial

  • In 1988, Paul Newman founded The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp to give children with serious illnesses the chance to “raise a little hell.” Through a variety of year-round programs offered onsite, in hospitals and clinics, and right in camper homes and communities, they serve thousands of children and family members each year. Hutchinson employee Cesar Campero and his family connected with the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp when his son Christian was in treatment at UMass Memorial Medical Center. They have stayed involved ever since—and this year, the Campero family is running the Camp Challenge 5K together as Team “Christian’s Courage.” We are proud of Cesar and family, and fully support the cause of the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. Won’t you join us? We’ve put a link in the comments leading to the Campero Family fundraiser page. #HoleInTheWallGangCamp #CharityRun #5KFundraiser #RunForKids

  • In the latest issue of Defense and Munitions magazine, Hutchinson Regional Sales Engineer and US Northeast / Defense Aftermarket Sales Manager Tim Russell shares the story of our team’s quick and innovative problem-solving for a U.S. Navy contractor. Our customer needed a shock protection solution for its shipboard identification friend or foe (IFF) device and wanted to be sure the Navy’s recommended Cablemount system would be up to the task. Hutchinson’s rigorous modeling showed that the recommended Cablemount solution left no room for possible error, and we quickly set about identifying a superior solution. We’ve posted a link to the full article in the comments below (the article begins on page 28). #NavyContractors #DefenseContractor #MilitaryContractor #MilitaryEngineering

  • Challenge: address inefficiencies in the manufacture of a part made for one of our largest defense sector customers, which required a team of operators to spend significant time manually cleaning off the flash and debris inherent to the molding process. Read on to learn how our Automation Team activated a customized “cobot” (a robot designed to share space safely with a human operator) to free employees for more meaningful, value-added work: https://lnkd.in/eEb-P9Ju.

  • Some occasions call for an extended celebration—especially ones that recognize thousands of invaluable members of our local and global teams! We kicked off International Women's Day a day early, inviting employees to take photos in front of our vibrantly decorated #IWD2024 wall at Hopkinton’s company meeting. The next morning (March 8) participants gathered for “Diversi ‘Tea and Coffee,” which included an open discussion about diversity and inclusion at Hopkinton. We rounded out the festivities with a final sweet gesture, treating all employees to delectable cupcakes. Thanks to all who shared in the spirit of International Women’s Day, within our organization and everywhere. #IWD2024 #EmbraceEquity #InvestInWomen #WomensRights #HutchinsonWomen
