Corky Lee's #AsianAmerica (Clarkson Potter Penguin Random House , 2024) | Closing out AAPI Heritage Month with a 1971 photo of our founder Hugh H. Mo taken by his longtime friend and esteemed Asian American photographer Corky Lee. Mo, a Chinatown NYC native, volunteered to establish the Chinatown Health Fair in NYC, that led to the Charles B. Wang Health Center. Mo, Richie Lee (Corky's brother), and others built wooden booths to ensure that community members could receive medical treatment with dignity and privacy.
