Headworks’ Wastewater Screen is one of the best Wastewater Screens on the market. The perforated elements form a continuous band that faces perpendicular to the channel. Screenings are captured by the 1/4 inch or 1/8inch hole diameter elements and are lifted to the discharge point, where our Dual-Surge spray header system removes them. Our Multiplex Sealing system eliminates the need for brushes to seal sieve elements. The perforator is odor-controlled, corrosion-resistant, and can pivot waste from its channel. Headworks had the pleasure of assisting the Village of Suffern in increasing its wastewater capacity and meeting new regulations for ammonia concentrations in the plant discharge. Thanks to our MBBR technology, we did this without installing new tanks. Existing aeration tanks were seamlessly retrofitted with MBBR media, new aeration grids, and media retention screens. The new MBBR process started in 2022 and has exceeded the plant’s expectations. We used ActiveCell920 media with 680 m2 per m3 of internal protected surface area. It can handle highly variable flows and loads without washing the biomass from the process tanks. We designed for < 4 mg/l effluent ammonia in summer and < 7 mg/l in winter. Our installations are still active, showing that Headworks strives for long-lasting quality with our wastewater treatment processes.
