A repost from Take Stock in Children of Florida (State HQ): With pride, Take Stock Putnam named Riley Johnson their 2024 Take Stock Outstanding Senior! After graduating from Crescent City Jr/Sr High School, Riley balanced a full courseload and full-time work with school activities like Varsity Softball and Volleyball, the National Honor Society, an internship with the Putnam County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller and committed 185 hours of community service. "Riley's perseverance, integrity, and resilience make Riley stand out amongst the graduating class," said Wendy Hansford of the Goodwill Industries of North Florida. "Riley is an amazing student in and out of school and makes an impact wherever the senior goes. When the scholar exhausted the math and science courses available at school, Riley transitioned to a full-time dual enrollment status at St. Johns River State College." Riley will attend St. Johns River State College to major in either Children's Advocacy or Political Science. "I intend to take my work ethic and drive and apply it to a career that works with children," the scholar shared. "By faith, I intend to graduate with my AA in December 2024 and proceed with a 4-year bachelor's degree." "To me, Take Stock means someone was looking out for my best interests 110% of the time," Riley shared. "I was never forgotten or overlooked. I was included and recognized for the work I had done." As Riley closes one chapter and opens another, the scholar leaves some advice for current and incoming Take Stock in Children students. "I would advise that you enjoy everything day by day. Never overwhelm yourself in hopes of being the first, but instead, delegate and do it right and in a well-mannered order." Great words from an Outstanding Senior! Congratulations, Riley! #TakeStockinChildren #Classof2024 #ShareYourTakeStockStory #TheirNextChapterStartsNow #goodwillnfl/

Mayor's Youth at Work Partnership summer Internships are in full swing! Pictured below are students interning for Carrence Bass at City Hall, where they are working closely with the Council on Elderly Affairs, City Officials, and community leaders in Jacksonville. Through our partnership with the City of Jacksonville’s Kids Hope Alliance, the Mayor’s Youth at Work Partnership program provides eligible students with paid internships and work-related experiences that prepare them to succeed in employment. It's going to be a summer to remember! #goodwillnfl 📸 Credit: Carrence Bass

We had a great morning with this month's new hires at New Employee Orientation! During orientation, we walk through each of our education programs, emphasizing that we're more than just a thrift store. This is also an opportunity for new employees to connect before going to work across our 14-county region. Attendees also heard from Regional Manager Sivuca Ware about what working for Goodwill means to him. #goodwillnfl

A year ago today, we were celebrating the Grand Reopening of our Jax Beach location! 🥳 The Jax Beach community was extremely excited about the newly renovated location, which features a covered drive-thru donation center, a GoodCareers center, and an expanded retail floor. Shoppers were lined up outside, ready to be the first ones to get a look at the new space, and many received gift cards toward their purchases. It truly was a special day we will never forget! #goodwillnfl

Today, we had the pleasure of hosting Lutheran Social Services of NE Florida at our Corporate Campus for an informational luncheon. Our President and CEO, David Rey, and our team had the opportunity to showcase our organization and discuss each of our education programs and community involvements. We appreciate these opportunities to gather with fellow North Florida nonprofits and discuss ways we can collaborate for the betterment of our community! #goodwillnfl
